ANDREW STIRLING INTERVIEW ON NEW RURAL LEADERSHIP PODCAST

Recently, Andrew Stirling was invited as the very first interviewee of a new podcast launched by the Scottish Enterprise Rural Leadership programme — In Conversation With Rural Leaders, spotlighting a variety of voices from across the 650+ alumni of this programme and the wider rural business community.

Hosted by Jane Craigie, the topics of conversation in Episode 1 ranged from his approach to enterprise, how he feels about the future, his advice for family businesses and what he values about the Rural Leadership Network.

He also elaborates further on why he feels he's "cavalier" and his hopes for the years to come as Upper Dysart Larder continues to grow and evolve.

"Make family businesses work by sitting down at the table every week — or every month — and discussing openly what the problems or issues are, because otherwise you could end up in trouble. Some people speak out, some people don't — I think if you discuss ideas you can have a vote, but the most important thing within the family is to talk, to share and be fair."
